A few years ago, I had the bright idea to start crocheting my own striped blanket. I used simple double crochet stitches and didn’t plan on using any color changes except when I finished a full skein of yarn. As I soon found out, however, crocheting a full afghan is a huge commitment. I’ve been working on it off and on and I’m only a quarter of the way done…and about three skeins in.
