Crochet in comfort by knowing what position your body should be in. This video is great for those just starting to crochet. I remember when I first got into it. My arms, neck and back would hurt for days after only crocheting for a few minutes. It’s very important to know the correct position so you’re body does not get sore. This great video is hosted by Michael Sellick. Don’t forget there are plenty of crochet videos for you to watch and learn!

I have a wooden rocking chair that sits at one end of my dining room table. The back is curved to cradle my spine, the arms dip down in a gentle curve towards the back of the chair, making it the perfect resting place for my arms when crocheting. I can put my yarn (in a bag) on the dining room table or I can put it into a grocery bag (the type with holes for handles) and put the holes over the arm of the rocker with the leading edge of the yarn coming out the top of the bag between the handles. I can’t have a skein out in the open (in a bowl or on the floor or sitting on the arm of the sofa) because my cats would be after it immediately! When I do decide to crochet on my couch, I have the bag of yarn beside me on the couch and a small pillow placed in the small of my lower back for extra support.
