when you gently prod for the end, you’ll usually find one end is would looser than the other … use that end to ease your fingers into the center, pinch a small bit, pull that out; the end is usually in it. i never have much to rewind, if any, but when i do, i do a german rewind for a center pull and ease it back into the end.
