I taught my 3 sons the chain stitch. They made a chain that went from the upstairs to the basement for the Christmas tree. I tried to teach my granddaughter how to crochet but she is left handed and it has been difficult. She keeps trying and the computer is making it easier to show her.

Last summer, I taught my 8-yo grandson to single-crochet. He LOVES it. But, alas, his family moved 11 hrs away since then. It was so exciting watching his excitement in learning.

I initiated a program for boys and girls 10-13 years old in an inner city school to knit and crochet. This is our 4th year and we have a solid core group of 2 boys and 10 girls who are enthusiastic and eager to learn. Our goals include making something for someone else. We have a small budget but depend on donations. Everyone is having a great time.

Yes I taught my 3 boys and my daughter. My daughter was only 4 and she did an awesome job on a piece about an inch square.. I carried it in my wallet for many years. I also video taped her learning.. IT WAS FUN!!

I tried to teach my 2 daughters to crochet but neither of them caught on. I did however, help my Aunt to pick-up crocheting again after years of not practicing skill!
