Win Free Yarn From AllFreeCrochet!

June 8, 2012 by AllFreeCrochet 11 Comments

Our friends at AllFreeCrochet are giving away two skeins of this gorgeous yarn from DarnGoodYarn. This Fair Trade Recycled Silk Sari Ribbon Yarn is a must-have for your yarn collection. This intensely dyed silk ribbon yarn supports a great cause, and creates unique yarn that’s perfect for any knit or crochet project.

Recycled Silk Sari Ribbon Yarn is handmade by women in fair trade co-ops. Pieces of vintage silk saris are collected and hand torn into widths of about a quarter inch, then sewn together end-to-end and dyed. The result is this stunning, exotic-looking yarn, including this multi-colored collection aptly titled, “At the Bahamas.”

The vibrant colors are perfect for creating bright summertime items. If you enjoy working with recycled crafts, then get your hands on this yarn today!

AllFreeCrochet is giving away these two skeins of yarn to one lucky winner! Will it be you? The contest ends June 20, so enter now!  You can enter once daily, so enter early and often!

What would you make with this yarn? Leave a comment below and share your ideas with us!

What I’d make out of this yarn is a hard one to figure out. I might buy some more (if I like the yarn) and make a shawl out of it or I might make a scarf from it. It looks very pretty in the picture.

I love trying to find ways to recycle everything, so I absolutely love the material used to make this yarn and the fact that it supports womens’ work! I’ve been looking for yarn to make a bright granny circle vest, and this would be perfect! Light enough weight that I could wear it all year round and beautiful bright colors.

I usually make things for other people, but I love the colors so much I think I would have to make a scarf for myself this time! 🙂

I like the colors also and I think I’d make a hat if there’s enough yarn, if not I’d buy enough to finish the hat and make a matching scarf.
